Overview

Every setting behind the VWAP indicator — anchor mode, standard deviation bands, a second/third VWAP, and the trade-size-based variant.

What's covered

  • Enable VWAP and open its settings — click VWAP in the Indicators list to turn it on with default settings, then open the settings panel from the top left of the chart window to configure everything below.
  • Pick a VWAP mode (anchor point) — this determines where the calculation restarts: session, exchange day, exchange week, exchange month, visible range, or full data. Visible range recalculates as you zoom/pan; the others anchor to a fixed calendar boundary.
  • Naked VWAP — draws a dotted line forward from where the previous period's VWAP closed, so you can see whether price is trading back toward yesterday's VWAP close.
  • Standard deviation bands — up to three deviation levels around the VWAP, each independently configurable (fill, opacity, multiplier), so you can widen or narrow the envelope and control how visible each band is.
  • TSize VWAP (trade-size VWAP) — instead of one VWAP across all volume, this builds a separate VWAP for each trade-size bucket, so you can see where differently-sized participants are averaged in. The video flags it as an important setting and points to its own dedicated use-case video elsewhere in the course.
  • VWAP 2 & 3 — two additional VWAP lines with their own independent mode and styling settings, so you can compare, e.g., a session VWAP against a weekly VWAP on the same chart at once.
