Grammarly (or other apps) interfering with Exocharts on macOS

Issue
When Exocharts is installed on macOS alongside Grammarly (or potentially other similar apps), an interference may occur due to macOS Accessibility permissions.

Observed issues
If Grammarly has Accessibility access enabled under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, you may notice the following issues in Exocharts:

  • Charts load significantly slower than usual.
  • The application becomes temporarily unresponsive after launch (menu buttons and drawing tools inactive for up to a minute).
  • Opening the “Pair Selector” or menu panels may result in empty windows.

Cause
The Grammarly desktop app (and possibly other apps with Accessibility access) interferes with Exocharts’ UI rendering on macOS.

Solution
To fix this issue:

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  3. Find Grammarly in the list.
  4. Toggle off its Accessibility access.
  5. Restart Exocharts.

After disabling Grammarly’s Accessibility access, Exocharts should start and function normally.

Note
So far, this issue has been confirmed only with Grammarly. However, if you notice similar behavior and have other apps with Accessibility access enabled, try disabling them one by one to identify the conflicting application.
