Overview
Text type is a separate layer from cluster type — you can pair any visual cluster (for example, a plain volume profile) with any text overlay (for example, open-interest numbers). This video covers every text type except imbalance, which has its own video.
What's covered
- Open interest–based text types — OI total prints the finalized open interest at a level; OI created prints new positions opening; OI removed prints positions closing; and OI removed-vs-created shows both figures together. These are independent of delta — the same candle can show heavy buying on delta while OI created shows almost no fresh positions opening at the highs.
- Short vs. long / long vs. short exit — an estimate (not exact OI data) of new shorts vs. new longs entering, and separately, positions exiting. Called out as one of the more reliable ways to spot potential trapped traders — new shorts piling in right at the lows, for example.
- Volume — the simplest one: raw transacted volume at each price level.
- Delta — the finalized buy-minus-sell figure at each price, as a plain number rather than a shaded visual.
- Bid-ask — market sells vs. market buys as a dollar/contract figure directly on the chart, useful for reading the exact size at the POC when reviewing a specific moment.
