Overview
Before diving into individual cluster types (volume, delta, bid-ask...), this video covers the settings shared by all of them — those that control how any cluster is calculated and rendered.
What's covered
- Calculation mode — volume vs. delta — determines whether shading intensity is driven by raw volume or by delta (an aggressive imbalance in one direction).
- Volume calculation — adaptive vs. fixed — adaptive auto-scales shading to current market conditions as they evolve; fixed pins shading to a single static volume figure you set. The video's recommendation: adaptive, for almost everyone.
- Bar width adaptivity — matters far more for profile-style clusters (volume profile, delta ladder profile) than for a plain delta cluster, since it controls how wide the visual gradient spans.
- Adaptive memory (candles back) — how many past candles the adaptive shading looks at to calibrate itself; a smaller window reduces noise but reacts faster to recent conditions.
- Delta tint steps — controls how many color gradations you see in the shading.
- Shade-to-black and shade-to-opacity — purely visual controls for how those gradations are rendered.
- Show zero-volume clusters — toggles whether price levels with no trades inside a candle are drawn at all or hidden so only actually-traded levels show.
- Remove cluster padding — removes the thin divider between each price row inside a candle for a smoother, more continuous look.
