Overview
A cluster mode that colors and sizes cells by open interest change rather than traded volume — showing where positions are actually building or unwinding, not just where trades were printed.
What's covered
- OI change vs. volume — A standard cluster shows how much traded at a price; the OI-based cluster shows how much open interest changed at that price — two contracts trading hands (one closing, one opening) can show identical volume but very different OI change.
- Rising OI at a level — Generally read as new positions being opened at that price — a level the market is actively building exposure around, worth noting as potential support/resistance from position-holders defending their entry.
- Falling OI at a level — Reads as positions being closed/unwound at that price rather than new ones opened — a different market dynamic than fresh interest, even if the raw volume printed looks similar.
- Known limitation — This is explicitly called out as an area the presenter wants to see improved (a "net change" profile info view) — treat the current OI cluster as directionally useful rather than a finished, fully granular tool.
